A modern woody fragrance built on clean spice and warm, resinous woods. Frankincense Black Pepper takes the stillness of petrified forests and turns it into something molten: hot skin, glowing smoke, quiet seduction that lingers on the body.
Created in 2025 by perfumer Julie Massé and Shay & Blue founder Dom de Vetta.
The story begins in Namibia’s petrified wood forests — mineral landscapes where ancient trees have fused with stone and time feels suspended. The air is dry, the heat is steady, and everything moves slowly, including the way warmth gathers against your skin.
Frankincense Black Pepper doesn’t recreate that view; it translates the mood. Sun-warmed minerals, long shadows, a sense of quiet strength. A landscape that feels both grounded and a little dangerous.
That’s the backbone of the scent: a woody structure that feels solid and timeless, wrapped in modern texture and intimate warmth.
On first spritz, Frankincense Black Pepper opens with a cool, uplifting clarity: fresh juniper and a spark of bergamot that feel almost tonic-like. Clean, modern, quietly energising.
Then the spice rises. Black pepper and cardamom create the heart — intensely clean spice with a sharp, intriguing edge. It’s not a kitchen spice; it’s polished, aromatic heat that sits close to the skin.
As the fragrance develops, the woods begin to glow. Frankincense brings a soft, resinous smoke; hazelnut and amber wood add a creamy, addictive depth. The dry-down is woody, warm and comforting, without ever tipping into heavy or sweet.
This is where Frankincense Black Pepper stops behaving like a classic woody fragrance and becomes something far more intimate — a slow-burning warmth that clings to skin and moves with you.
The fresh spice you notice at first doesn’t fade; it melts. Juniper, black pepper and cardamom sink into glowing frankincense and soft woods, turning into a haze that feels like heat rather than perfume.
Hazelnut and amber wood smooth everything into a molten, skin-close finish. Not loud, not shouty — just that subtle trail that makes someone remember you hours later.
It’s the scent of soft breath at your neck, low light, a moment held half a second too long. The kind of fragrance you wear when you want to feel grounded, magnetic, and just a little dangerous.
Hot skin. Glowing smoke. Pure sex in a bottle.
Fresh spice. Warm woods. Smoke that stays close to the skin.
